Police are investigating a road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 3am on Monday 30th August on the A5093 at The Green, Millom.

A red Vauxhall Astra has been involved in a collision with a tree leaving the driver with serious injuries.

The driver, a man in his 30s from Broughton in Furness was initially taken to Furness General Hospital but has since been transferred to Royal Preston Hospital.

Officers are seeking witnesses who saw a black Vauxhall Astra in the area during the night to make contact.
