At 00:36 hours on 27th June 2022, four fire engines attended an incident on the A590 near to Penny Bridge, Ulverston to a road traffic collision involving one vehicle into a river. Two casualties were assessed by paramedics from north west ambulance service at the scene. Firefighters used four swift water rescue technicians, a thermal image camera, lighting and were detained for approximately sixty minutes.
