Artworks Art4All, are bringing their What the Flock event to Barrow town centre on Saturday 17th September with support from Barrow BID.
The event will take place at locations around the town centre, including the indoor market, outdoor market area, Dalton Road and the Cumbria Sewing & Craft Centre on Dalton Road. Activities will include:
Meet the Alpacas – Get up close to the alpacas and find out more about them, also with the chance to feed them.
Flock-a-cise and other exercise based activities will get your heart rate up and put a smile on your face. Laugh, dance and exercise along with our Flock-a-cise trainer near the Spirit of Barrow statue on Dalton Road.
Face Painting – Although we’d love to see lots of little lamb faces on the day our face painter will be available to transform your children into their desire.
Workshops – A series of creative, wool and sewing workshops will be available on the day and you may get a chance to try yarnbombing.
Street entertainment and live music – The Bread & Butter Theatre Company will be in town to entertain shoppers as their new ‘Flock’ characters and we will have live music in the form of local buskers.
What the Flock Town Trail – Round up our missing sheep as you follow clues and a map to find 10 missing pom pom sheep who are hiding in locations around the town. Prizes for 10 winners on the day. Get your trail sheets from the Portland Walk entrance of the Market.
…and more – the event co-ordinators are working on other activities and we hope to bring more sheepish fun to Barrow town centre on the day.
Sharon Wendy Tait (Event Lead) said, “Following our What the Flock event in Barrow Park we are delighted to bring our sheep, the alpacas and the rest of our activities to Barrow town centre. We hope that the event will be a shear delight for all ages and we know ewe will be entertained during the day.”
The event will take place between 10am and 2pm on Saturday 17th September and you can find out more by following the event at: www.facebook.com/events/1320410618489820
