Cumbria Police – Investigating Burglary in Grange over Sands

Police are investigating a burglary occurring at the site of the former Lambert Manor Hotel, Grange on the evening of 20th August. This site is currently under renovation and a number of pieces of IT equipment have been removed.

Officers are seeking details or a description of the occupants of a black 2011 Vauxhall Corsa which they believe contained two males. This vehicle was seen in the area earlier in the afternoon.

This vehicle may have been noticed by residents as out of place.

Officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have had cause to speak with these individuals or who can recall this vehicle visiting their premises during the day.

PC Adam Roberts, South Lakes police said “This incident serves as a timely reminder to our communities across the district that opportunistic criminals will target what they feel are isolated and unattended properties.

“We would encourage everyone to take the time to review the security of their premises, be that residential or commercial.

“The installation of CCTV, alarms or security lighting can all reduce the chance of being targeted.

“Reporting suspicious incidents helps police to prevent and deter would be criminals and assists in making our communities hostile environments for them to operate in.”

Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it , quoting incident number 81 of 21st August 2022. You can also phone on 101.

Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
