On this week’s Sportzone show Tony Colyer talks to the secretary of the King Alfred Bowling club Dave Whitehead about the status of the club following 18 months of Covid restrictions and the general rules of the game, greens maintenance, teams, team numbers, Leagues, age profiles and how to get involved in the great game of Bowls.

Dave also advises membership numbers and fees and the county pathways available to players who wish to be considered for Cumbria and Dave recalls his experiences of playing for the county and the ‘sledging’ he had to endure from the home spectators when travelling away!
