Barrow is destination Playcation this summer.

BarrowFull has created free

Barrow band The Native Cult will be performing on selected days as well as the prestigious Liverpool Philha

rmonic Orchestra for the Lunchtime Lives, half hour mini-gigs where everyone can relax, sit back and enjoy live music.

Events take place from 11am-3.30pm on Tuesday, July 30 in Vickerstown Park; on Thursday, August 1 in Cavendish Park; at the Dock Museum on Saturday, August 3; at Ormsgill Community Centre on Tuesday, August 6; in Abbots Vale Park on Thursday, August 8 and finish in Barrow Park on Saturday, August 10.

Playcations have been running during summers in Barrow since 2021 and this year, more of the events are aimed at older children including graffiti workshops and word jam sessions.

There are also chances to play a giant board game, try motion-triggered sound art mini golf, gelli painting and producing comics and zines.

Playcations are even offering a bike repair station to ensure a safe summer of cycling.

Younger children and families are not forgotten either with a range of activities happening at all the Playcation venues including a library and family hub storytime.

Playcations producer, Natalie Bowers, said: “This year’s Playcations’ events promise another round of arts opportunities for all ages including a new line of sessions for older kids and teens to try their hand at graffiti art; urban street dance and zine making amongst other activities in BarrowFull’s jam-packed programme, which is still absolutely free. So come and join us at one (or all!) of the dates taking place near you.”
