Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault that occurred in Ulverston.

Police received a report of a disturbance inside a residential property on Market Street on 1 January, just before 9pm. A man sustained minor injuries.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage. He was released on bail.

Police have been informed that a member of the public intervened but left prior to officers attending the incident. Officers would like to speak to this individual.
