Police are investigating a suspicious incident in Barrow.
A school pupil walking on Hawcoat Lane was followed by a man early in the morning. He did not make physical contact but the incident caused her distress.
It happened between 7.45am and 8.20am on January 9.
The man was described as white, about 30, of medium build, with dark brown, frizzy hair. He was wearing a brown waterproof jacket.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward to help identify the man.
Police are not aware of any other similar incidents in this area but would ask people to always consider personal safety as we experience the dark mornings and nights. Ensure your child knows how to keep themselves safe, including calling police.
