On 14th August 2022, three fire engines attended a fire on Hard Knotts Lane, Leece, Ulverston. The fire involved a field and straw that was made up for hay bales. Firefighters used two hose reel jets, four beaters and two farmer spreaders to extinguish the fire. Crews were detained for approximately one hour and forty minutes.
