Appeal for witnesses after pedestrian seriously injured in Barrow

Police are investigating a road traffic collision which occurred at at 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday 16th February).

The collision occurred on Island Road in Barrow, outside the Co-op.

A pedestrian – a man aged 53 from the Barrow area – was taken from the scene to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of a silver Land Rover Freelancer was uninjured.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen either the pedestrian or the silver vehicle to contact Cumbria Police by emailing sciu@cumbria.police.uk and quoting log number 196.
