Ahead of National Volunteers Week (1-7 June), Police and Crime Commissioner, Peter McCall, praises the hard work of volunteers within the county, who help keep Cumbria safe.
Peter McCall comments: “National volunteers’ week is an opportunity to recognise the fantastic contribution volunteers make to our communities and to say thank you.
“It is important to celebrate the tremendous amount of hard work and time volunteers in Cumbria give so willingly, all year round. I suspect many of which will be organising community events for the forth coming Jubilee weekend and making sure everyone is part of the celebrations and having a good time.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have such a large network of volunteers and every day, their resilience, generosity, and kindness help make our communities stronger and safer. Volunteers’ Week is a time for us to come together and thank all volunteers in Cumbria, for the fantastic contribution they make to our communities, helping to keep Cumbria safe.”
Constable Aneska Kosak of the Citizens in Policing Unit said: “Volunteers are a valued part of the police family who support all aspects of policing, whether that be Special Constables on patrol, Mini Police officers & Police Support Volunteers educating our communities or volunteers teaching our cadets.
“It is important to acknowledge all the incredible work our volunteers carry out and we never underestimate the hard work and dedication they give to support Cumbria Constabulary.
“This Volunteers Week the Citizens in Policing Team want to say thank you to all the volunteers who give their time to Cumbria Constabulary and we recognise and appreciate all your hard work.”
