Share your experiences at a special event to help shape adult support and care

As part of a new approach to delivering Adult Social Care, Westmorland and Furness Council is asking people to share their experiences of adult care at a special ‘Listening Event’ in Barrow this month.

Everyone with an experience of Adult Social Care is invited to come along and share stories of contact and support from adult social care – whether it be a personal experience or that of a loved one or friend – to help develop ways of working.

This special event will take place on Friday 28 June at The Forum Theatre, Barrow, from 11am to 2.30pm.  A free lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Cath Whalley, Director of Adult Social Care at Westmorland and Furness Council, said: “It’s fantastic to be hosting our first listening event, as it’s the start of a new approach for the council and for Adult Social Care.

“By listening to your experiences, we want to use your insight to help us develop better ways of us working together to help shape the social care support that adults in Westmorland and Furness want for themselves, and the people they care for.

“We are urging people to share with us your experiences of Adult Social Care – it may be your own experience, or the experience of a loved one or friend; maybe you know someone in care or you are someone who receives adult social care support from us now.

“Whatever your experience, we would really like to hear from you and help us ensure adults are listened to and understood.”

Richard Currie, Co-production Lead with Stockport Council, will be a guest speaker at the event, sharing insights into how customers and clients have worked with Stockport Council to deliver real change.

To come along to the listening event, please complete the online booking form or phone 0300 373 3300.
