Cumbria Fire and Rescue: Hay fire in Leece, Ulverston

On 14th August 2022, three fire engines attended a fire on Hard Knotts Lane, Leece, Ulverston. The fire involved a field and straw that was made up for hay bales. Firefighters used two hose reel jets, four beaters and two farmer spreaders to extinguish the fire. Crews were detained for approximately one hour and forty minutes.


Cumbria Fire and Rescue: Kitchen fire at a house in Millom

At 01:22 on 9th August 2022, two fire engines attended an incident on Lord Street, Millom. The fire involved the kitchen of a domestic property and one casualty was attended to by north west ambulance service. Firefighters were detained for approximately fifty minutes.

Cumbria Fire and Rescue: Fire in a dormer roof in Barrow

On the 29th July at 11:43 hours, two fire engines and the aerial ladder platform attended a fire involving a dormer roof on Wheatclose Road in Barrow in Furness. Firefighters used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. Crews remained on scene for forty five minutes.


Cumbria Fire and Rescue: Vehicle fire on Sparrowmire Lane, Kendal

At 0123 hours on 17th July, two fire engines attended a fire on Sparrowmire Lane, Kendal. The fire involved a caravan which was well alight on arrival. Fire crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one main jet and a thermal imaging camera. Fire crews were detained approximately one hour.
