Cumbria Fire and Rescue – Road Traffic Collision in Barrow

At 21:48hrs on 21st October 2022. Two fire engines attended a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian under a vehicle on Risedale Road, Barrow in Furness. Crews used a jack and hydraulic spreaders to release the casualty and remained at scene for around forty minutes.

Cumbria Fire and Rescue: Rescue of person in Ulverston Canal

At 00:22 hours on 23rd August 2022, three fire engines were mobilised to a person in the Ulverston Canal, Canal Street, Ulverston. Two specialist rescue team members rescued the casualty using a wading pole; crews were in attendance for approximately thirty-five minutes.


Cumbria Fire and Rescue: Road Traffic Collision in Kirkby Lonsdale

At 11:53 on the 19th of August 2022, four fire engines attended an incident on Kirkby Lonsdale. The road traffic collision involved two vehicles. Firefighters extricated one casualty using manual handling techniques and a scoop stretcher crews were detained for approximately fifty minutes.

At 16:50 on 16th of August 2022, fire engines attended an incident on Salthouse Road, Barrow-in-Furness. The road traffic collision involved one vehicle. Firefighters used small tools to extricate one casualty from the vehicle. Crews were detained for approximately one hour thirty minutes.
