Events to mark Remembrance Sunday will take place across the Borough of Barrow on 10 November.
In Barrow – The procession will gather at Town Square at 10.10am before moving off at 10.30am for the town’s annual service held at the Cenotaph, which will get underway at 10.56am.
The procession will feature members of the Royal British Legion, the Ex-Service Associations, Royal Navy, The Army Reserve, Sea Cadets, Army Cadets, Air Training Corps, Fire Service, Salvation Army, St John’s Ambulance, British Red Cross, WRVS, Scouts and Guides and similar organisations who may wish to take part.
In Dalton – A public service for residents and members of public organisations will be held at St Mary’s Parish Church at 10am.
A procession will then form in the Market Place before moving towards the War Memorial for the laying of wreaths at 11am.
In Newton – There will be a short service at the Village War Memorial at 11.45am.
In Ulverston- The Remembrance Day parade on Sunday 10 November, organised by the Royal British Legion in Ulverston will start in Brogden Street, outside the British Legion. All Welcome. The Parade will step off at 2.10 for the service at the Parish Church, returning to the War Memorial for laying of wreaths at approximately 3.35.
There will be a short service of Remembrance on Monday 11 November at 10.45 at the War Memorial.
CandoFM will also be respecting the minute silence at 11am and on Sunday there will be a Pete Special Show with 2hours of music from the 40s dedicated to Remembrance from 10am.
