On this weeks Sportzone is the newly appointed Head coach of Barrow Raiders Ladies rugby team Amanda Wilkinson.
Amanda provides an insight into her early athletics days at Hoad Harriers before trying her hand at Rugby League with Barrow Ladies.
She then progressed into coaching and became the Rugby League’s first female Level 3 coach having Grand final success at Wigan Warriors in the first season of Super league.
Amanda is also involved in the development of Serbian Rugby League alongside her Husband ex Raiders player and coach Stuart Wilkinson.
Amanda was introduced to her new squad of players last week and tells CANDO FM her ambitions for the Ladies new season ahead in Super League.
The club is holding an ‘Open trial day’ on Sunday 12th December at Craven Park to any budding rugby league players who feel they have what it takes to compete in the Super League.
Tune in every Thursday from 6pm for the SportZone with Tony Colyer
