On this week’s SportZone is Emma Armstrong, player and social media representative for the South Lakes women hockey team based in Ulverston.

Emma returns to tells us about the season so far following promotion to the Northern League Division 2 having not played competitively for 18 months.

Currently mid table and winning 4 from 6 has been a very positive start but Emma tells us of the surprise heavy defeat last weekend against Lancaster University (9-1) and the lessons learnt.

New recruits are very welcome to try their hand at Hockey and there is also a junior section for children aged 5 -14. South Lakes play their home games on the Astro turf at Ulverston Leisure centre mainly on a Saturday ko 12.30 and everyone in the Furness area is encouraged to go and watch  and support the Ladies and there is an open invitation to any potential sponsors who may wish to support the club financially.
