Major road improvements on the way thanks to government cash boost

Furness’ roads are set to be improved further, thanks to an £18 million funding award from the government. Cumbria County Council has been awarded £17.8 million from the ‘Levelling Up Fund’, round three, to make improvements to the A590, A595, and A5086. County council set to receive £18m to upgrade Energy Coast highways routes

It has been announced that Cumbria County Council will receive £18m from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund which will be used to upgrade 30km of the county’s highway network.
