Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service is currently responding to a large barn fire at Little Urswick, near Ulverston. Nearby residents are being asked to keep their doors and windows shut while this fire is dealt with. People are also asked to avoid this area if possible until this is resolved.

Officers investigating an alleged assault in Barrow on 12 June 2023 have charged a man. Tony Miller, 37, of Barrow, has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and theft. Miller appeared before South Cumbria (Barrow) Magistrates Court today (26 June) and has been remanded in custody.
