Officers conduct operation targeting anti-social behaviour and drugs in Millom

The Copeland Neighbourhood Policing Team have joined the forces intelligence Unit and taskforce in a joint operation in Millom.

On Tuesday (May 23), officers were out targeting anti-social behaviour and drug offences.

PC Craig Treymaine from the Intelligence Unit said “This operation was an opportunity to disrupt anti-social behaviour, criminal behaviour and gather intelligence in Millom.

“Anti-social behaviour has a detrimental impact on our communities, and we would encourage residents to continue to report incidents to us.”

Officers conducted two section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act searches and a man was stopped and reported for disqualified driving. His vehicle was seized and he will be summoned to court.

Three vehicles were stop searched during the operation.

PC Treymaine continued “We had officers in uniform and plain clothes as part of the operation.

“Intelligence was gathered and will help support our work in the area moving forward.

“This was just a small part of the ongoing work we are doing with partner agencies in the area.”

We are looking to challenge the use and supply of drugs in this area.
