A man who died following a collision on the A590 has been identified.

Officers were called at about 5.45pm on Thursday (November 4) to a collision involving a Honda CRV and a tractor.

The driver of the Honda, Tony “Smudge” Smith, 52, from Barrow, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The collision happened on the westbound carriageway, between J36 and Brettargh Holt roundabout.

Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses to the collision to contact PS 2378 Johnson if they have any information.
