Local appeal for information – Dog out of control in Hartington Street, Barrow

Police are investigating a report of a dog being out of control in the area of Hartington Street, Barrow, between 11:30am and noon on Tuesday 22nd March 2022.

A 61-yr-old woman from Barrow was bitten on the hand causing puncture wounds, after a loose dog described as an English bull terrier, white with brown ear tips, attacked her West Highland terrier which was also injured in the incident.

There were two men in the area who appeared to know the dog in some way, and also a second tan-coloured dog it had been seen with earlier.

The first man is described as white, under 30, thin/medium build, around 5ft 8ins tall, with mousy hair and wearing only brown shorts.

The second man arrived on a bike and is described as a black man with dreadlocks.

They took the dogs away in the direction of Parry St/Hawke St.
