Police are investigating an attempted arson at the Original factory shop in the Gill.

It is reported the suspect has climbed onto the roof of the building on the morning of Tuesday 23 May with rolled up newspapers and tried to start a fire.

Smoke was sighted around 9am and the Ulverston Fire Brigade were called out to extinguish the small fire.

No one was injured.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed anyone in the area acting suspiciously around the factory shop about 8:30am and 9am on Tuesday morning.
