At 02:06 on 21st June 2022, two fire engines attended an incident on Salthouse Road, Barrow. The incident was a fire involving a large quantity of rubbish possibly containing asbestos. Firefighters used two hose reels, three breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to bring the fire under control and decontamination was carried out on scene. Fire service were on scene for approximately two hours
