CANDOFM Community Radio Station has been recognized as “Local Media Champions!”
Andrea and Jonny Williams, from the management team at CANDOFM community radio, had the incredible opportunity to visit No. 10 Downing Street on Wednesday 19 April.
They attended a prestigious reception for Local Media Champions, hosted by the Rt Hon Lucy Frazer KC MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Media, and Sport.
The DCMS minister emphasised the vital role that local media organisations play, led by passionate local participants. These organisations provide inspiring, informative, and relevant content tailored to the interests, issues, news, and current affairs of our local community.
CANDOFM was nominated as Local Media Champions by the MP for Barrow and Furness, Simon Fell MP. Simon wholeheartedly acknowledged the exceptional work CANDOFM is involved with in the community, which goes far beyond its responsibilities of radio broadcasting.
This is a monumental achievement for the entire CANDOFM team, a testament to the unwavering hard work and dedication everyone has poured into the station. The entire CANDOFM team is immensely proud of this honor, and we sincerely hope that our local community shares in our excitement, agreeing that this particular accolade is undoubtedly worth celebrating!
