Arrest made following reports of burglaries in Ulverston

 

Officers have arrested a man on suspicion of burglary following reports in the Ulverston area.

Police have received reports over the past two weeks of incidents where sheds and garages have been broken into and items taken around the rural Ulverston area.

A 42-year-old man, from the Ulverston area was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

What can you do to protect your property?

Some simple tips include:

  • Ensuring side gates, sheds and garages are locked with a good quality lock.
  • Keeping cash and valuables locked away safe or well hidden.
  • Removing keys from locks and keeping them out of reach
  • Considering increasing your security with good quality locks, CCTV and chains.
