Police are appealing for witnesses regarding an incident which occurred in the early hours of Monday 3 April in the Stanley Road area of Barrow.
Police received a report of an assault on a woman, aged in her 40s, in the Stanley Road area in Barrow, which resulted in a facial injury.
She is being supported by officers.
Officers would like to speak with the person pictured who was in the area at the time and may have information to assist detectives with their investigation.
Detective Superintendent Jenny Beattie said: “We are appealing for anyone who has any information at all about the incident to contact us.
“We are also looking for anyone with doorbell and dashcam footage between 00:20am and 02:00am Sunday night into the early hours of Monday morning (2-3 April) in the area of Stanley Street, Cameron Street, Burnaby Street, St Patrick’s Road, Stewart Street and Ferry Road.
“We have a team of detectives conducting numerous enquiries, which are at an early stage. Patrol activity is being increased in the area.
“Incidents such as this are very rare, but the community can take reassurance that we are doing all we can to investigate this.”
