Police and ambulance services attended a road traffic collision this morning (3 July) at 5:30am on Allithwaite Road in Grange over Sands.

A male cyclist, aged in his 40s, has been taken to Preston hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of a white refrigerated van was uninjured.

The road will be closed for several hours whilst a forensic collision investigation takes place. Diversions are in place via via Cartmel.

Officers would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision.
