Tony Callister

Tony is retiring from Cumbria Fire Service in March 2019 after 30 years based at Barrow Fire Station`s both old and new.

He also worked for Lancashire Football Association for the last 15 years covering Barrow and South Lakes, Morecambe and Lancaster as a Football Development Officer along with being an FA Tutor for Level 1 and 2 courses.  Along with being Head of Performance at Barrow AFC, overseeing all the youth players at the professional football club.

I have been privileged to represent North Walney as a Borough Councillor for the last 20 years and my proudest moment came as representing the town as Mayor for the year 2017/18.

I am passionate about Barrow and have a huge passion for music across all genres.

Being a presenter for CandoFM really is a dream come true and I hope to play a positive role in helping the Station grow bigger and bigger, and with the quality presenters on the rota this really is an incredibly exciting time moving forward.

I have become a trustee for the North West Music and Arts Academy which will be based at 102 Abbey Road

Along with playing the drums and learning the ropes as a wannabe singer, music is heavily at the heart of my life.

A big Happy Days to all the listeners ……… this is your community station.
