Musical Memories is a weekly radio show for people living with dementia and their families and carers, presented by Dignity in Dementia. Bringing joy and friendship to people with memory issues, we’ll share information about activities happening in the Barrow area that people can get involved in, with snippets of advice on how best to support people; chat, interviews and plenty of music from the 60s, 70s and 80s to help spark those good memories.
Gilli Goodfellow has had a varied career meandering from theatre and performing, through alternative therapy into community engagement, and is still waiting to find out what she is going to do when she grows up. In the meantime she likes doing anything creative, walking up hills and jumping in the lake. Spreading a good feeling is important too, which is why she works for Dignity in Dementia as an activity planner, helping people living with dementia stay engaged and interested in life. This is her first foray into radio.
Dignity in Dementia
The number of people with dementia is growing and we want to help make their lives as normal and as positive as possible. Dignity in Dementia, works with families, health and social care staff and Community groups in Cumbria and Lancashire to educate and inspire, so that they are able to respond confidently and positively to people with dementia in a way that maintains and enhances their dignity.
We offer training and advice on all aspects of dementia, along with delivering dementia-embracing community groups and support groups, to keep people active and engaged.
