Every Sunday Barrow Community Kitchen – Every Sunday free hot meal 2.30-5pm The main aim of Sunday’s is to combat social isolation. Donations are always welcome. A chance to meet new people and reconnect back into the community if you have been alone for a while. We are fully inclusive no referal just turn up. Food friendship community.
2nd & 4th Monday of the month St Mary’s Hospice have new walks for health at 10.30am setting off from the Living Well Centre, Duke St, Barrow. Local short walks around Hindpool and Channelside along pavements and paths suitable for all (most wheelchair accessible). For people living with/recovering from illness. A mixture of scenic, coastal, sometimes exposed walks or town with local historical points of interest. Dress for the weather with sturdy shoes. In case of very bad weather ring the Living Well Centre on 01229 444407.

Feel Good Singers community singing group starts back this week in the back room at The Methodist Church, Hartley St, Ulverston: 7pm on Mondays, 10.30am on Thursdays
To ease our voices, minds and bodies into 2020 we will be singing easy and simple songs.

18 Jan 2020 A coffee morning at Dalton Community Church URC, to raise funds for the Furness Theatre Organ Project and their ongoing work to maintain their 2/7 Wurlitzer Organ in the Royalty Cinema, Bowness on Windermere.
Donations of prizes, cakes and bric-a-brac most welcome.

22 Jan 2020 Barrow and District Dementia Hub Fourth Wednsday every month at the Living Well Centre Barrow. Come along and join us for coffee and cake in a relaxed environment. Lots of helpful information and support available.

4 Apr 2020 DINO DAY Barrow town centre will be hosting a range of dinosaurs including a
T-Rex, Triceratops and a Velociraptor. Get up close and personal to these ferocious dinosaurs… but don’t get too close as they might bite! Dinosaur shows and exhibitions will take place across Barrow town centre between 10am and 4pm and you can even get the chance to be a Dinosaur Ranger for the day. 2 May 2020 Keswick to Barrow and Coniston to Barrow Walk
Registration is now open for the 2020 Super Soapbox event and the prices have been held from this year, meaning it is £200 for a corporate team and £100 for individuals, charities and BID levy payers.The Super Soapbox Challenge returns on Sunday 24th May Teams from across Barrow and the North West will be racing hand-built carts down the town centre course as they try to take Orsted’s crown as Soapbox Champions.
The event will be bigger and better than last year, so put the date in
your diary and get to Barrow town centre on Sunday 24th May.
