Things to do:
Check out on Facebook the CandoFM Gigs, Events and What’s On group where local community groups, business and the community are posting ideas and coming together for support. Below are a few ideas…..
Set up a schedule to help get you into a routine, so get up shower and breakfast. Maybe an hour for fitness or try to spend sometime outside. If you go for walk remember to ensure you keep your distance from others or alternatively if you have an outside space have a tinker round the garden or even set up a bird station so you can see what wildlife comes to visit. There are lots of local businesses from pet suppliers to milk men that are selling bird feeders and feed.
There are also lots of free online ideas such as www.nhs.uk/conditions/nhs-fitness-studio/
Take up a hobby or learn a new skill. Free online courses at Openculture.com or the open university have a lot of free courses too.
You could also catch up on your reading with some of the free apps and also www.borrowbox.co.uk or on Facebook you can borrow ebooks and audio books via barrow library.
Or if you’re wanting to keep your brain agile try www.mathletics.com for dynamic problem solving and reasoning maths
Consider fostering a cat or dog which will keep you company if you are at home for a long period. If you contact the various local rescue groups they will be able to advise.
Plan what you’re going to do after isolation such as holidays why not have a look on YouTube to find out more information on where you’d like to go.
For the kids
Some great Facebook pages such as: Did you know world, creative ideas
Children to write letters, send pictures or crafting send to old people homes that are on lockdown so they know people are thinking of them
Make sure you keep in touch with family and friends either by texting and messaging, phonecalls or even the numerous FaceTime applications on messenger, iPhones, what’sApp etc. Don’t let not being able to visit people stop you from communication.
