CANDOFM, Barrow BID and Barrowfull were pleased to announce “Her Majesty, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Event”
Teh event was held on Dalton Road Barrow Town Centre on Saturday 4th June. 12pm – 8pm
The day saw a spectacular event to honour the Queen’s long service that we hope will stay in people’s memories for many years to come.
Celebrating community and friendship, the people of Barrow were invited to join a huge street party with 60 picnic benches along Dalton Road. Entertainment ran from 12pm with a rousing rendition of the National Anthem, performed by local choirs, through to the early evening with a Live Stage hosting tribute acts, including Elvis, Freddie Mercury, Robbie Williams, Ed Sheeran and many others from every decade of the Queen’s reign.
The day was rounded off with local choirs, orchestras and brass bands performing a ‘Last Night of the Proms’ style concert.
There was something for all the family with plenty of art and craft stalls, street entertainers and competitions.
Provision was also made for low-income families to receive picnic parcels.
