St. Mary’s Walk To Remember!
7 June 2017 Info
St Mary’s Walk to Remember is back by popular demand. Hundreds of walkers will come together to show their support on Friday 7th July.
The Walk to Remember is a 10 mile sponsored walk that starts at St Mary’s Hospice at 8pm and finishes at Furness Academy.
Melisa Dixon, St Mary’s Community Fundraiser Officer said “After looking at various ideas we conducted a survey and we have listened to our valued supporters. We’re very excited to continue the Walk to remember this year and are confident in the love the community have shown for it. Every walker that signs up helps us raise vital funding for our hospice care and this year we’ve tried to make it more inclusive by lowering the age band to age 8 for our younger supporters.”
On the night, walkers will get a chance to warm up with Clare Tonkin from Ulverston Leisure Centre. Clare will be there at the start of the sponsored walk to run through a few exercises and get people ready to go. There will also be a retail stall and face painting.
Mel added “Because the walk is so personal, this year we wanted to give people the opportunity to get personalised t-shirts. We’ve worked with a local supplier who can provide t-shirts that have the name of the person you are walking for proudly displayed on them.” The link for our T-shirts will be coming soon.
The walk is sponsored by Cumberland Building Society. “Cumberland is pleased to sponsor St Mary’s Hospice Walk to Remember. This is a great event which will provide a friendly and memorable challenge and, importantly, help raise a lot of money for St Mary’s Hospice.”
Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for 8 – 18yr olds. We are also running an early bird offer where tickets will be £7.50 for adults up until Monday 17th April.
